Developing scientific and professional skills at the international level

Researchers, medical doctors, veterinarians and nurses from all over the world come to ITM to specialise in tropical medicine and public health in a stimulating international context. Our research-focused courses stimulate independent learning and the exchange of ideas, and we make full use of the latest media technologies. We do our utmost to prepare our students for a successful continuation of their careers after their stay in Antwerp. Our advanced master courses, short courses and PhD programmes focus on tropical medicine and health care in low-resource settings. We have a special regard for neglected diseases and also devote considerable attention to veterinary health care and to diseases spread from animals to humans.
